Knit a Wardrobe: Socks
There’s nothing worse than socks that don’t fit right, are scratchy or uncomfortable, or that aren’t warm enough in the winter. Avoid all these problems by learning to knit your own socks! Learn to knit socks top-down and toe-up, how to knit different kinds of heels, advanced techniques like kitchener and magic loop, and how to make a custom sock that fits you perfectly.
Cost: $80 course fee includes 4 hours of instruction.
Skills Learned: how to read sock patterns, how to knit socks top-down and toe-up , how to knit different heels a well as kitchener and magic loop techniques.
Prerequisite: this course offering assumes you have beginner knitting skills, have some experience reading knitting patterns and feel comfortable casting on and off by yourself.
June: Class meets Saturday June 9th and July 14th from 10am-12pm
- Set of size 1 DPNS
- Size 1 40” circular needle (optional)
- Approximately 400 yards of sock yarn, preferably a wool and nylon blend
